Verde Fruit Basket

The Verde fruit basket is the green version of the openwork-basket form. 7.5 inches across, 4.5 inches tall — taller than the Fresco market basket, sized so the wall reads as a wall and the openwork as windows rather than ventilation slots. Lynn pours the Mexican green glaze across the exterior; the clay shows through at the rim, the foot, and the inside edges of the cutouts.

The form holds a week's worth of fruit without crowding it — citrus stays presentable, stone fruit doesn't sweat, the basket reads as an object on the counter even when it's empty. The green is the brightest move in Lynn's ceramics palette, and this is the piece that carries it.
